PURPOSE
WHY?
My e-Portfolio was created as a way for me to be able to create a path for me in the future. I am not entirely sure of what my future entails, but I am certain that it is bright. This webpage is a way to keep myself accountable for my actions in the future and to make sure that I do my very best every single day.
WRITING CENTER
My time so far at the Writing Center, has been nothing short of impactful. I have learned so much about not only helping people develop ways to enhance their writing, but I am also becoming well versed in all sorts of subjects and topics.
TUTORING BELIEF
I believe that learning begins with the individual. One has to put in effort in order to see any desired results. I also believe that the student must also be willing to seek help when they need it. When students realize this, they are able to receive help. As a tutor, I will make sure to do everything in my power to make this a possibility for them. I will work hard to ensure that my students leave sessions with me feeling more confident about their work. I want to approach tutoring this way because of how deeply I want to help people. I want to make sure that we both give each session our all. All that I ask for is your respect and I will give you mine as well. Together, we can accomplish anything that we are working on. Even if we aren't able to finish right away, I am sure that the time we spend will help you to solve the problems you are facing on your own.
SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY
My Future
Speech and Language Pathology is a career choice that is not that well heard of. However, it just so happens to be one of the things that I am most passionate about. I believe that people in this field are so important. They are people who truly care about others and will do everything in their power to help those in need of their services. I plan to become a doctor in speech and language Pathology and to help those in need around the world. Specifically, I plan to start up a clinic in Ghana, West Africa. I want to make sure that I am able to help individuals who struggle to speak because I know how prevalent that is over there on first-hand experiences. I plan to achieve this goal by my 30's or even before then. I have the will and determination to do it. I just need to put myself in the right position and to work very hard. Through the skills that I am acquiring as a tutor, and through how I was raised, I know that this goal of mine is attainable. All that is left, is for me to put in the work to make my dreams a reality.
